Photographic Bio
Ella Carlson, M.Photog., Cr., CPP, is a certified professional photographer who earned her Master of Photography degree in three years and the Photographic Craftsman degree the following year. Currently, she is highest scoring professional photographer in the state of Massachusetts for the second consecutive year, and was the highest scoring photographer in New Hampshire the previous year.
She studied graphic design at the University of Massachusetts, and has studied photography at the Maine Photographic Workshops, Essex Photographic Workshops, various PPA workshops, and others. She has been teaching digital imaging, photography and Photoshop® at UMass since 1999 when she earned her Adobe Expert Certification in Photoshop. She also teaches classes and workshops in Photoshop and Corel Painter® for state and regional professional photography groups. During her professional photography life, she has worked as a news photographer, wedding and portrait photographer, fine art photographer, and a graphic designer.
Ella has a studio in Dunstable, Massachusetts. She currently limits her work to fine art imagery and portrait photographer. She continues to teach at the University of Massachusetts, in addition to speaking on Photoshop and Painter. Her latest project is the dancer project: www.flightsofdancing.com.

Awards
Ella has been the highest scoring photographer in her state competitions the past three consecutive years, earning the Massachusetts Professional Excellence Award. Her top scoring image received a perfect score of 100, only the third time a perfect score was awarded in PPAM history. In only five years of national competition, she has been a Photographer of the Year four of the past five years, earning the Platinum level Photographer of the Year award this year with a total of four images to be published in this year's PPA Loan book.
Her photography has been awarded four Kodak Gallery awards, four Fuji Masterpiece awards, seven Court of Honor Awards, two American Society of Photographers awards, two Certified Professional Photographer awards and two Peoples Choice awards.
